What does Diner like?
a good cuppa free-trade joe without the hazelnut
we have no themes - we print what jumps off the page into our beings
we publish formal poems / prose poems / persona poems / poems containing a grander truth then what happened to the writer. We dislike landscapes that don't go beyond the trees. We want to read language with sound - we often
read the submissions out loud when we get the final go round.
We published a 14 yr old / a Sudanese young man / poems from firemen / pig farmers / much published academics --- we like seeing a range of society rub words in our pages -
art work ----- only black and white - photos, collage, art -
Diner also publishs essays, short fiction and memoirs.
Memoirs that go beyond what happened to the writer but touch on a broader social understanding - makes a statement about the world large or small. Essays that state more than the obvious. Prose in which the sound of language as well as content is considered. Please state if a story is memoir or fiction.
